Leona Mae Partin (nee Brown), age 67, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 10, 1941 in Elyria and has lived in this area her entire life. She was employed as a cook for many years at various local restaurants. Leona enjoyed making crafts, sewing, and working on puzzles.
She is survived by her son, David (Donna), of Lorain, daughters; Nancy Quinn, Debbie Partin, and Bonnie Partin, all of Lorain, step-son, Charles Partin, of LaGrange, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, brothers; Alfred, of Oberlin, Glen, of New Orleans, LA and Pat, of AZ, and her sister, Loretta Carstensen, of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rochelle Edwards in 1996, parents; Chuck and Stella Marie (nee Huffman) Brown, and several great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
