Les H. Bomback, 68, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Adult Care by Sandy, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born July 19, 1946 in Lorain, he lived in Lorain his entire life. Les graduated from Lorain High School in 1964 and then served in the US Army during the Vietnam War for 2 years.
Les worked as a bus driver for the Amherst school system for 9 years, retiring in 2008. Prior to this, he worked as a Rigger at Lorain Works US Steel for 38 years.
He was a member of the Steel Workers Union Local 1104. Les enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, gardening and doing yard work. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Marge J. (nee Bedo); a son, Brad (Jessica) of Lorain; grandchildren, Caden and Caley; brothers, Ron of Lorain, and Gary of Amherst; and a sister, Cathy (Marty) Kelly of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Julia (nee Duray) Bomback.
The family would like to express there sincere and deep appreciation to Les's caregivers, Traci Bennett and Adult Care by Sandy.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Deacon Luis Maldonado will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. Military honors will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20 Honor Guard.
