Lillian A. Marin (nee Segarra), age 76, of Lorain, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born August 12, 1941 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she lived in New York for a year before coming to Lorain in 1955.
Lillian worked as a custodian at the Lorain City Health Department for 18 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a former member of Templo Bethel in Lorain and enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, traveling and visiting family and friends. Lillian and her late husband also frequently visited those who were in the hospital.
Surviving are her sons, Felix Jr, of San Angelo, Texas and Samuel "Sammy" of Lorain; daughters, Migdalia Serrano and Lydia Rivers-Hogg both of Lorain and Christina Marin-Gill of Ansted, West Virginia; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson; and a sister Octavia Pagan (nee Melendez) of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Felix in 2010; and her parents, Monico and Georgina (nee Pagan) Segarra.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. David Woolsey, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Avon Lake will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
