Lillie P. Stobart, (nee Messanger), age 91, of North Ridgeville, died on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Center Ridge Health Campus, North Ridgeville, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 19, 1918 in Newberg, West Virginia, moving to Lorain in 1951 then to Port Charlotte, Florida in 2002.
Lillie tended bar at the "1200 Bar" in Lorain for many years, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of the Salvation Army in Port Charlotte and in Lorain.
She was a member of the Ladies Home League, through the Salvation Army, where she was very active.
Lillie enjoyed watching soaps on tv and word search puzzles.
She is survived by her son, David Lee (Frances) Lambert, of Chicago, IL and daughter, Elizabeth (David) Reihner, of Port Charlotte, FL, 18 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Smith in 2002, son, John Lambert in 1995, sister, Mildred Glendening in 1995, brother, Walter Glendening in 1987.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 6-8 p.m. at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday. Captain Paul Pelletier, of the Salvation Army, Elyria, will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
