Lois Mae "Toots" Farley (nee Bailey), age 86, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at her home, while under the care of Hospice of the Western reserve.
She was born on March 12, 1925, in Rock, West Virginia, moving to Lorain in 1953, where she has lived the rest of her life. She was a salesclerk at the former Lawson's Milk Company for 17 years. Prior to this, she also worked in a greenhouse taking care of the plants and assembling fruit baskets, and also worked at General Industries as an assembly worker. After her High School graduation, Lois worked at a gun powder arsenal for the WWII efforts. Above anything though, she was an excellent homemaker and mother.
Lois was a member of Broadway Assembly, where she was a member of the "Folks of Forty" Club, for 20 years. She enjoyed playing card games and gardening.
She is survived by her daughters; Mary Jane Farley and Linda Lincicome, both of Lorain, her twin sons; David Lee and Donald Lee, both of Lorain, and her 6 grandchildren; Alicia, Barbara, Jordan, Kayla, Isabella, and Chloe.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles Lee, in 2003, 2 granddaughters; Cynthia and Janelle, brothers; Orville, Ralph, Wallace, Lake Jr., Douglas, and Melvin, a sister, Maxine Echols, and her parents; Lake E. and Cora Lee (nee Foster) Bailey.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20, from 4-8 pm, at Broadway Assembly, 5495 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Her funeral Services will be held Sat., at 11:00 am, also at the church. The Rev. Matt Jones, Pastor, and Rev. Bill Shomo, will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling arrangements.
