Cecelia Louise Nelson, age 90, of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Wesleyan Village in Elyria.

Born December 15, 1934, to Oscar and Golabell (nee Cheatham) Frost in Greenville, Alabama, Louise moved to Ohio when she was 16 years old. For over 21 years she served as a nurses assistant for Good Samaritan Nursing Home until retiring in 1998.

Louise had a passion for the Gospel and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed puzzles, cooking and Westerns. 

Surviving are her sons, Leason (Tawana) Nelson Jr. and Oscar Nelson; daughters, Linda (Melvin) Perry and Sherie (Carlos) Plaza; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Christine Smith.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents as well as her brothers, Ira Frost, Eddie Frost, Fred Forst, Oscar Frost Jr., and Erbie Frost.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 9 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Church on the North Coast, 4125 N. Leavitt Road, Lorain. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
