Luciano "Lucio" Mulero, age 89, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Lorain Manor Nursing Home following a short illness.
Born on January 7, 1916 in Caguas, Puerto Rico he came to Lorain in 1950. He also lived in Florida for a few years, and even went back to Puerto Rico after his retirement.
Mr. Mulero worked at Lorain Works/US Steel in the blast furnace department, retiring in the mid-1970's.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel. He enjoyed going to senior citizens programs at El Centro. He enjoyed doing carpentry work and working in his garden.
He is survived by 3 sons, Manuel and Freddy, both of Lorain, and Nepomuceno "Nick", of Granite Falls, North Carolina; 3 daughters, Cristina Barreiro, and Maria Mulero, both of Lorain, Sarah Diaz, of Charlotte, North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Aida Mulero-Rodriguez, of Caguas, PR.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ana (nee Figueroa) in 1996; parents, Luis Mulero and Marcela (nee Montanez) Mulero, 2 daughters Andrea Mulero and Josephine Leon; 6 brothers, and 3 sisters.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2005 from 5-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Friends may also call on Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of funeral mass at 9:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
