Luz Marcano, age 63, of Lorain, passed away after a lengthy illness, on Monday, January 23, 2011, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
She was born on May 10, 1948 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and had moved to Lorain 25 years ago. While living in Puerto Rico, she was employed by the government, for 30 years, working at a rest home.
Luz enjoyed attending Mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She also liked to play dominoes and cards. She would always go out of her way to help anyone who needed it and was always good with children. Luz's granddaughter, Osiriz, was truly the light of her life.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Osiriz Luna, of Lorain, sister-in-law, Carmen, of Florida, husband, Pablo Luna, of Puerto Rico, and her close friends; Milagros Hernandez, of Lorain, and Eduardo and Nelida Arocho, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Luz Luna, and her son, Rafael Marcano.
Friends will be received on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 11:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
