Lydia Santiago-Escribano, age 62, of Lorain, peacefully went home to be with her Lord, in the midst of song and praise and surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, June 3, 2012.
She was born on February 25, 1950, in Comerio, Puerto Rico, moving to Lorain in 1971. She was a member of the Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misionera. Lydia was a prayer-driven woman, with her faith and religion being a major part of her life. She loved her family dearly and took great pride in instilling a strong faith in each of them. She loved every moment she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Lydia is survived by her children; Lydia E. Gocher, of Lorain, Damaris Santiago, of Lorain, Eliezer Santiago, of Lorain, Moises (Jordan) Santiago, of North Ridgville, Josue "Stanford" Santiago, of Lorain, and David A. Santiago, of Lorain, her 11 grandchildren; Angilena, Jeffrey, Dominic, Jacob, Alyssa, Moises, Vito, Gino, Arianna, Jonathan, and Julian, 2 great grandchildren; Telena and Ziaire, and her brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Jesus and Francisca (nee Santiago) Escribano, and her beloved sister, Elba V. Cotto, in 2005.
The family will receive friends on Wed., June 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Thurs., at 11:00 am. The Rev. Daniel Reyes will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
