Mabel L. Benczi, (nee Barlow), age 91, of Lorain, died on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion, following a lengthy illness.
Born August, 31, 1914 in Chillicothe, Virginia, she came to Lorain in 1939 and had lived here since.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Lorain.
Mabel was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and gardening.
Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl Poole of Cleveland, and Marie Zelina of Vermilion; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Mazzone of Marion, Ohio, and Marty Beck of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Paul J. Benczi in 1998; parents, Charles Barlow and Mamie (nee Jones) Barlow; sons, Timothy Benczi in 2005 and Gary Benczi in 2002; Brothers, James Barlow, Charles Barlow, and Eugene Barlow; grandson, Mark Allen Benczi in 1978.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 11, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where Funeral services will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. Rev. Jay Roller, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
