Mabel Roberts (nee Jones), age 78, of Avon Lake, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Metro Health Medical Center, Cleveland.
She was born on April 28, 1932, in Harlan County, KY, and has lived in this area for 60 years. She was employed at Foseco Inc., in Cleveland, as a machine operator for 11 years, before retiring in 1976. She enjoyed working on crafts, but most of all, enjoyed being with her family.
Mabel is survived by her daughter, Linda Lou (Edward) Vitai, of Sheffield Lake, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a brother, Johnny Jones, of LaGrange, KY, and sister; Dorothy Gibson, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Wayne Roberts, in 2008, parents; Benjamin L. and Ida May (nee Campbell) Jones, brothers; Charles and Jimmy, and sisters, Alice Edmonds and Ethel Scalf.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 1, from 4-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Monday, at 11:00 am. The Rev. Jim Justice, from Christian Life Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
