Magdelena Galvan

Magdelena Galvan (nee Martinez), age 98, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Mercy Health Lorain Hospital following a short illness.

Born May 10, 1923 in Evansville, Texas, she lived in Tylor, Texas before moving to Lorain in 1943.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain and the Guadalupe Society of the church.

Surviving her sons, Albert (Patti) Galvan of Marblehead and John Galvan of Lorain; daughter, Nancy Towner of Lorain; daughter in law, Barb Galvan of Lorain; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Isaac P. Galvan in 2012; sons, Isaac T. Galvan, Ricardo Galvan, Joseph Galvan and Alexander Galvan; daughter, Amparo Caris; granddaughters, Janet Gorbey and Dana Galvan; several brothers and sisters; and parents, Diego and Tibursia (nee Acuna) Martinez.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of mass at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain.  Rev. William Thaden will officiate.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.  The Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue is handling the arrangements.
