Margaret (Margie) Ann Delinsky (nee Gdovin), age 85, of Lorain, died on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Regina Health Center, Richfield, Ohio, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born on October 17, 1920 in Slovakia and had moved to Lorain in 1930. Margaret attended Lorain High School, graduating in 1938.
Margie was a member of Holy Trinity Church, where she remained a life-time member of St. Ann's Lodge. Moving to the parish of St. John the Baptist in South Lorain, she was a member of the Mother's Club, and the Altar and Rosary Society, and managed the St. John school cafeteria for many years. She was also a long time employee of Lorain Products, where she made many life-long friends. Retirement brought her and Charlie to Huron, OH, where they shared their enthusiasm for the beauty of the lake and the pleasures of boating. Her final parish in Lorain was the Catholic Church of St. Peter, where she was a member of the Sacred Heart Society and active in the Senior Citizens group.
She had enjoyed gardening, crocheting, entertaining, and cooking, specializing in Eastern European delicacies. She always had a loving place at her table for everyone.
She is survived by her son; Chuck, of San Diego, CA, her daughters; Shirley Michalak, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jean Turner, of Harrisburg, PA, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and her 3 sisters; Agnes Herda, Helen Shullick, and Lillian Penn, all of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charlie, in 1997.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, 2006, from 5-8 p.m., at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held the following morning at 9:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Lorain.
