Margaret "GG" Medina, (nee Baraty) age 75, of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the EMH Avon Health Campus.
Born on March 31, 1937 in Lorain, she was a life long resident of Lorain graduating from Lorain High School in 1955.
She was employed at Hills Dept. Store in Lorain, for over 35 years retiring from there in 2002. She also loved working for Keidrowski's Bakery from 1995 until 2010. During this time, she attended the Paczki Ball for 15 years consecutively and each year served as Miss Prune. Marge had also served as the Paczki Princess and Paczki Queen of the ball.
Marge was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel. She was also very involved with Al-Anon, a support group where she had been the keynote speaker for many years at the annual meetings. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to music, dancing, spending time at the bakery and attending Mass at Sacred Heart Chapel.
She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Korenek (Al) of Orlando, FL, Laura Moreno of Streetsboro, OH; 2 sons, Jesse Medina (Larissa) and Jeffrey Medina, both of Lorain; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Velazquez (Louie) ,Mary Jean Kenzik and Phyllis Kenzik, all of Lorain; brother, John Kenzik, (Sandy) of Lorain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus "Chu Chu" Medina in 2010; and parents, John and Mary (nee Kuhar) Kenzik; and a brother, Joseph Kenzik.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:45 a.m. followed by mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate
