Margaret I. Uszak (nee Rago), 92 of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at her residence following a short illness.
Born February 23, 1922 in Homestead, Pennsylvania, she moved to Lorain in 1948.
She worked for 17 years at F. W. Woolworth as a clerk, retiring in 1968.
Margaret was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where she was active with Altar and Rosary Society and currently a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain. She was also a member of St. Peter's Senior Couples, St. Peter's Senior Citizens, Young Golden Agers if St. Joseph, Lorain, and the National Council of Catholic Women.
Margaret loved bowling. She bowled with the Rebman's Senior Couples League and Happy Bunch League. She also enjoyed gardening.
Margaret is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Joseph in 1993; her parents, John F. and Veronica (nee Bodnar) Rago; a brother, James Rago; and sisters, Christina Ellis, Anne Kondis, Veronica "Vern" Miko and Mary Rakowski.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:00 am in the funeral home followed by mass at 9:30 am at Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
