Maria O. Reyna (nee Villarreal), 84, of Lorain, died January 11, 2009 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a short illness.
Born Jan. 24, 1924 in Bastrop, TX, she traveled the United States with her family while working on farms before settling in Lorain in 1950.
She worked at St. Joseph Hospital as a housekeeper for 24 years retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel and enjoyed cooking, listening to music, dancing and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her sons, Mario, Tomas, Abraham, and Geronimo all of Lorain; daughters Juanita Thomas of Crestwood, KY, and Andrea Reyna of Lorain; 14 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; brothers, Joe Villarreal of Lorain and Lupe Villarreal of Florida; a sister, Martha Villarreal of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Abraham in 1985; parents, Jose Lupe and Andrea Villarreal; a son, Joseph in 1977; a granddaughter Monica Reyna; and a great granddaughter, Gabby Reyna.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
