Marian F. Manecci (nee: Mihalic), age 76, of Lorain, died on Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Community Health Partners HSC - West, Lorain, after a sudden illness.
She was born on June 22, 1930 in Donora, PA, moving to Lorain in November of 1948, where she was a resident for the remainder of her life.
She was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church, Lorain.
Marian took great pride in being a homemaker for her family. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had also enjoyed baking, cooking, and making candies. Marian liked doing needle crafts, putting puzzles together, and reading. Along with all of her other numerous hobbies, she was also a Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Marian is survived by her husband of 58 years, John V. Manecci, her 3 sons; John F., of Lorain, Raymond A., of Greensboro, NC, and Louis J., of Winter Park, FL, her 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 1 brother, Michael J. Mihalic, of Milroy, PA, and 4 sisters; Dolores Gondos, of McKeesport, PA, Arline Sobek, of Fairlawn, OH, Mary Ellen Bergren, of Donara, PA, and Patricia Karki, of Wexford, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and Mary A. (nee Kosko) Mihalic, and a brother, John F. Mihalic.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 6, from 4 - 8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, with a rosary at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will also be held in the funeral home Thursday, at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 mass at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. Robert J. Glepko, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
