Marilyn Santiago (nee Velez) 45, of Lorain, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center - West, Lorain, following a short illness.
She was born Feb. 15, 1962 in Yauco, Puerto Rico; she lived in Brooklyn, NY before coming to Lorain in 1999.
She enjoyed playing cards, dominos, bingo and helping others.
Surviving are her sons, Jayson Negron and Arquelio Negron both of Lorain; daughters, Ednadi Persinger, Wilmarys Negron and Marianela Negron all of Lorain; 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 12 years, Ramon L. Santiago in 2006; her father, Jorge Velez; a son, Edwardo Negron; and 2 brothers.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Iglesia Nueva Vida, 3334 Wilson St., Lorain, where funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Josue Rodriguez, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
