Martha A. Cardona, age 61, of Lorain, died on Sunday, July 31, 2005, at Community Health Partners, after a sudden illness.
She was born on December 4, 1943 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, moving to Lorain in 1972.
Martha was a homemaker, where she was a mother and a friend to everyone. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing instant BINGO games, and watching her Spanish Soap Opera's.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Heriberto E. Flores, 4 daughters; Evelyn Garcia, Nilda Ramos, Irene Flores, Vachel Cortes, all of Lorain, 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 brothers; Eduardo Cardona, Jr. and Jose Cardona, both of Florida, Rev. Louis Cardona, of New York, and Henry Cardona, of Lorain, and a sister, Alma Quinones, of Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo and Josefa (nee Marrero) Cardona, a brother, Octavio Cardona and a sister, Teresa Cardona.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, from 2-4 and 6-8 in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Rev. Luis Cardona, brother of Martha, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
