Martha Rose Lukesic, (nee Matic), 94, of Lorain, died Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Autumn Aegis Retirement Community following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 9, 1911 in Lorain, where she had been a lifelong resident.
She worked at Central Bakery, Lorain as a clerk and in sales. Following this she worked at Tony's Bakery in Lorain, retiring in the 1970's.
She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lorain.
Martha enjoyed walking.
Surviving is her daughter, Martha M. Kowalczyk of Lorain; grandsons, Bryan Kowalczyk and Matthew Kowalczyk both of Lorain; and great granddaughters, Justine, Dina, and Breanna all of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas C. Lukesic in 1975; her parents, Joseph Matic, in 1956, and Rose (nee Lavish) Matic, in 1957; a brother, Nicholas Matic, in 2003; sisters, Mary Evekovich, in 1971, and Mildred Matic, in 1951, and Lillian Lynch, in 2002.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 17th and Lexington Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
