Martha K. Semon, (nee Kumse) age 92 of Lorain, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2006 at Amherst Manor Retirement Community, Amherst, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 26, 1913 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident here.
She was a 1931 graduate of Lorain High School.
Martha was a member of Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Lorain.
She enjoyed playing cards, watching television and visiting friends. She was active in Slovenian organizations and belonged to several Slovenian Associations.
She is survived by her sister: Victoria Pajer, of Orlando, Florida, nieces: Joyce Naelitz, of Amherst, Vida Schultz, of Orlando, Florida, nephews: Jerry Brove of Amherst and Craig Pajer of Naples, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, in 1944 while serving in World War II: sisters: Vida Dugan and Jennie Brove and parents: John and Vida (nee Virant) Kumse.
Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, East 31st and Globe Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Paul Krajnik, pastor will officiate. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
