Mary Jane Huffman, (nee Collary), age 80, of Lorain, died on Monday, March 12, 2007 in the emergency room at Community Health Partners HSC- West, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 21, 1926 in Connellsville, PA, moving to this area in 1956.
Mary Jane was employed as a housekeeper for St. Joseph Hospital.
She was a member of New Apostolic Church, Lorain, where she was the Sunday School Secretary, she also volunteered to clean the church.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, especially breads, and reading various types of books from the local library.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: William K. Huffman, sons: Robert E. Harper and John B. Harper, both of Lorain, daughters: Carroll J. Uehlein, of Amherst, Grace I. Sturgell, of Lorain, Bonnie Hamza, of Tuscon, AR, Kenda Kollar, of Stow, OH, and Billie Lee White, of Washington, PA, 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Novak, in 2006, her parents: John and Charlotte (nee Leonard) Callory, and her twin sister in infancy,
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 6-9 p.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the New Apostolic Church, 3929 Leavitt Road, Lorain. Her grandson, Adam Welch, will be officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
