Mary Kobilanski, (nee Oneszczuk), 84, of Lorain, died Monday, March 20, 2006 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 15, 1921 in Tereshany, Bukowina, Romania; she lived in Austria before settling in Lorain in 1952.
She worked as a pharmacy technician in St. Joseph Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Lorain.
Surviving is her daughter, Hildegarde Kniahynyckyj of Lorain; a grandson, Roman Kniahynyckyj of Lorain; and a great granddaughter, Lily Kniahynyckyj of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Adolph in 2000; parents, Ignatz Oneszczuk in 1945 and Katharina (nee Babiuk) Oneszczuk in 1999.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a panacheda service will be at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, E. 31st Street and Charleston Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Steven Paliwoda, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Loran.
