Mary T. Perry, age 81, of Lorain, died on Monday, February 7, 2005 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 28, 1923 in Tennessee, moving to Lorain 50 years ago.
She was employed as a housekeeper for over 20 years. Prior to this she was employed as a caterer for the former Red Ball Catering, Lorain for a number of years.
Mary was a member of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Lorain and also catered for the church.
She enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking pies for friends and enjoyed fishing.
She is survived by her sons: Richard, of Buffalo, New York, Marvin, of Strongsville, Eddie of Columbus, Edward Lee and Elvis, both of Lorain, daughters: Jacqueline Jackson and Bertha Gaddy, both of Lorain, 27 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, 45 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild, brother: Benny Fisher, and sister: Vinolla Walk of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ezell Perry in 1975, mother: Beulah (nee Frasier) Fisher and son: Charles Perry.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1516 E. 30th Street, Lorain, Ohio Rev. Melvin Woodard III, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
