Mary Petros, (nee Holko) age 91, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
She was born on December 31, 1915 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, moving to Lorain in 1995.
She was a member of Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church, Lorain and the Sokol Lodge.
Mary was survived by her daughter: Marlene Michener, of Lorain, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and sister: Margaret Winfield, of Coaltown, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: Michael Petros in 1996, brother: George Holko sister: Anna Holko and parents: John and Elizabeth (nee Verbosky) Holko.
A funeral mass was held privately for the family on Friday, January 19, 2007 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Lorain, Rev Fr. Robert Glepko, pastor of Nativity BVM, and Deacon Louis Maldonado of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, Pennsylvania. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, handled the arrangements.
