Mary Ristic (nee Mudrich), age 96, of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
She was born on January 17, 1913 in McKeesport, PA, moving to Lorain in the early 1930's. She was employed as a seamstress at Community Health Partners Hospital.
Mary was a member of St. Mark Serbian Orthodox Church, where she was the Financial Secretary and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the American Legion Grandmothers Club.
She was an excellent seamstress, but also enjoyed oil painting, charcoal sketching, and egg artistry.
Mary is survived by her daughter, whom she made her home with, Joan Loridas, of Lorain, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danilo V., in 1991, her parents; Lazo and Cveta (nee Vuckovich) Mudrich, 4 brothers; George, James, Steven, and Michael Mudrich, 3 sisters; Mildred Batula, Ann Shreves, and Sophia Sofia, and 2 nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, from 4-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where the Pomen will be held at 7:30 pm. Friends will also be received Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am, at St. Mark Serbian Orthodox Church, 1434 Lake Breeze Road, Sheffield Village. The Rev. Leontije Alavanja, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
