Mary A. Sorino (nee Talerico), age 90, of Elyria, died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the Hospital for Orthopedics and Specialty Services, Amherst, following a short illness.
She was born Dec. 9, 1915 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was raised in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and had lived in Hites and Barns, West Virginia before coming to Lorain in 1952. For the past three years, she had made her home with her son in Elyria.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, cooking and shopping.
Mary was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Elyria.
Surviving are her sons, Frank Caputo of Elyria; a daughter, Patricia Yriqoyen of Lorain; step-sons, Burch Sorino and Bob Sorino both of Lorain; step daughters, Jackie Pinter of Lorain, and Rose Sorino of Elyria; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Jeneva Duke of Clarksburg, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Caputo in 1959, her second husband, Anthony Sorino in 1998; a son, Joseph Caputo in 1994; daughters, Joanne Higginbothem in 1990, and Mary Costin in 2003.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a rosary will be held at 3:45 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
