Mary Stepura, (nee Olszewski) age 98, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, formerly of Lorain, died on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Golden Living Center there,following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 25, 1911 in Lorain, Ohio where she lived most of her life until moving to Georgia 14 years ago.
She was a member of Ss Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Lorain and St. Mary's Sisterhood of the church.
Mary is survived by her daughter: Ann (Howard) Kratzert, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, and 2 grandchildren: Alison and Nathan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Stepura, in 1987, her father; Nicholas, in 1971, her mother, Anna (nee Potochniak) Olszewski, in 1971, sisters, Julia in 1992 and Katherine Mogus in 1997, brothers, John in 1971, Andrew in 1992 and Harry Olszewski in 2002.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave. Lorain, where parastas will be at 7:00 pm. on Saturday morning the family will receive friends in Ss Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, E 32nd and Gary Avenue, Lorain from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. Archpriest Emilian Hutnyan, pastor of St. Andrew Orthodox Church, Maple Heights, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
