Maryellen Mihajlovich (nee Whalen) 82, of Tellico Plains, Tennessee, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center following a short illness.
She was born October 19, 1923 in Lorain; living in Miami, Florida before settling in Tellico Plains in 1990.
She was a 1941 graduate of Lorain High School, and a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lorain.
She enjoyed making hook rugs, gardening and cooking.
Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Pete; daughters, Sharon Washburn of Tampa, Florida, and Bernadette "Bonny" Szarek of Amherst; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen L. Meyers in 2004, parents, Clair E. Whalen and Jewel (nee Winston) Whalen; and a sister, Shirley Whalen-Bacon in 2005.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, W. 7th and Reid Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Daniel O. Divis, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
