Melvin D. Carver

Melvin D. Carver, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2018 at his residence in Lorain.
Born March 5, 1959 to Franklin and Nellie (nee Zirkle) Carver in Lorain, Melvin lived in Lorain his entire life. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1977 and worked as a car wash attendant for the former Paige's Car Wash on Lake Avenue in Elyria.
Melvin was known for being patriotic. He enjoyed video games, including Solitaire, fishing, scrapping and working on cars. He loved to work with his hands. Above all, Melvin loved his family.
He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Tina Hendershot; children, Alanna Carver, Kelly (Shannon) McPherson, Michelle Click, Kerry Samples, Erica Watson, Debbie Samples and Kurt Samples; grandchildren, Margaret, Rebecca, Tanya, Ray Jr., Chelsea, Joshua, Zach, Marissa, Kaleb, Mercedes, Jason, Anthony, Damian, Chris, Seth, Codie, Garth, Jeremy, Jeylann and Robert; great grandchildren, Danny and Liam and brother, Larry Carver.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Carver and uncle, Gary Carver.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10AM - 11AM in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. A memorial service will follow. A private burial will be held.
