Michael "Butch" Cherney, age 62, of Richmond Heights, Ohio, formerly of Lorain, died Saturday evening, June 25, 2005 at Alter Care in Mayfield Village, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Cherney was born on February 7, 1943 in Johnstown, PA. He was a member of and had been employed for 35 years, by the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #42 of Norwalk. He also was a member of the International Plumbers and Steamfitters Union of Virginia.
He enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid Brown's and Indian's fan.
Surviving is his longtime friend- Darlene Fiorille of Euclid; one son- Michael Cherney of Vermilion; and one brother- Steve Cherney of Johnstown, PA.
Preceding him in death was his wife- Jeannie (nee-Sawyer) Cherney; parents- John and Kathryn (nee-Hanechak) Cherney; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 from 5 - 7p.m., with services held at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
Mr. Michael Cherney had requested that his body be cremated after the viewing on Tuesday.
