Mildred M. "Millie" Krase, (nee Schuller), 91 of Oberlin, passed away at her residence while under the care of Stein Hospice following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 22, 1920 in Lorain, she graduated from Lorain High School in 1938. In 2002, she moved to Oberlin.
Millie was a homemaker and a member of Pittsfield Community Church. She was the last charter member of Lakeland Women's Club and their Creative Arts, and Tea and Tidbits departments, and a charter member of Cosmopolitan Club, Lorain. As a charter member of Lakeland Women's Club, Millie was instrumental in the conception of Community Health Partners, Lorain. Millie also volunteered for the Lorain County Election Board for 35 years. Millie was an excellent baker and enjoyed sharing her baked goods with family and friends. Her favorite past time had been doing cross stitch.
Surviving is her son, James M. Krase of Amherst; daughters, Michele K. Becher of Wakeman, and Susan L. Salter of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Kimberly Benetto, Todd Krase, Robyn Becher, Jon Salter, Michael Becher, Jason Krase and Ryan Krase; and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Michael in 2003; parents, John in 1953 and Sarah (nee Schuster) in 1975; a sister, Selm Shuller in 1997; and a brother, John Schuller Jr. in 1941.
Private services for the family will be held. Contributions in her memory may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870 or a charity of donors choice. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, is handling the arrangements.
