Milton Velázquez Sr., age 77, of Lorain, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at his home while under the care of hospice.
Born July 4, 1946, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he moved to Lorain in 1968. Milton retired from Ford Motor Company in 1998, working in the paint and body department for 30 years.
He was a member of Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal M.I. Ebenezer in Lorain and the United Auto Workers Union Local 425. In the early to mid-90s, he was a radio personality on his programming show “Mundo Musical” on WNZN 89.1 FM: La Onda Cultural Latina.
Milton enjoyed gardening, playing pool, listening to music, riding his motorcycle, and being active in his church.
Milton is survived by his sons, Milton Velázquez Jr., and Nicky Velázquez; daughters Jeannette (Tony) Brown and Windy Velázquez; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers Israel Velázquez and Heriberto Velázquez; and sister Gladys Velázquez.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elba Velázquez, in 2020; parents, Angelino Velázquez and Gertrudis Madera; brothers, Raúl Velázquez Sr., Florentino, Ramon, Euripides, Angel, Porfirio, Andy, and José Velázquez; sister, Maria Elis Velázquez, and Anna Ramos.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal M.I. Ebenezer, 1676 E 36th St, Lorain, where funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial followed at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.Friday, March 15, 2024
