Monica F. Quintin, (nee Moran), age 50, of Cheektowaga, New York, formerly of Lorain, died on Thursday, July 07, 2005 at the Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga.
She was born on January 27, 1955 in Amherst, Ohio. She was a graduate of Elyria High School in 1973. Monica lived in many places before moving to New York in March of 2004.
She graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lorain. She also received a Certification in Allied Health Services of Respiratory Therapy from the University of California and a certification of Registered Respiratory Therapist from Bio Systems in Tempe, Arizona.
Monica was employed as a respiratory therapist at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, for 12 years. Prior to this she was employed at Lorain Community Hospital, Lorain, Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, University of Southern California and Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, Texas
She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain and former member of St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church in Columbus.
Monica enjoyed gardening, sewing, music and traveling.
She is survived by her parents: George and Marie (nee Breznan) Moran, son: Nicholas Quintin, daughter: Alexis Quintin, both of Cheektowaga, New York, sister: Lisa Knipp, of Akron, brothers: Michael Moran, of Springfield, OR, James Moran, of Oberlin, OH, Mark Moran of Eugene, Oregon, William Moran, of Elyria, OH, Phillip Moran of Burlington, Wisconsin, Matthew Moran, of Amherst, Ohio, Nathan Moran, of Cheektowaga, NY, George Moran of Baltimore, Maryland and Jonathan Moran, of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 10, 2005 from 3-6 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where parastas will be at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m in the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain. Rev. Michael Moran, her uncle, of Van Nuys, CA., Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain and Rev. Alan Kapron, pastor of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Barberton, will con-celebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
