Myriam Aponte Rodriguez

Myriam Aponte Rodriguez, age 59, of Lorain, died on Thursday, March 03, 2011 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 7, 1951 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, coming to Lorain as an infant. She moved back to Puerto Rico when she was 18 years old, returning to Lorain in 1985.
She was a 1969 graduate of Admiral King High School, and attended the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, where she studied business administration.
Myriam was employed as an assembler at Lorain Products for 12 years, until retiring in 1987. Prior to this, she was employed in accounting, secretarial and general office work for different organizations.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain.
Myriam volunteered with the Boy Scout for 8 years, and provided transportation to kids taking Karate lessons at the YMCA. She also enjoyed being involved in many different extra-curricular activities that her son was involved with. She loved to sew, and enjoyed bowling and bike riding. She also loved to drive the bus for the Lorain Senior Center and help those who were less fortunate.
She is survived by her son, Frederico "Freddie" Rosario, of Florida; 2 granddaughters, Zaida and Caliana Rosario; a brother, Manolin "Manny" Aponte, of Fairfax, VA; and sisters, Carmen Rodriguez, of Austin, TX and Blanche (Arthur) Resendes, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manolin and Josefa "Pepita" Aponte; and a twin brother that died at birth.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will be private in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
