Natividad Cuevas

d. September 23, 2024

Lorain

Natividad Guidicellie Martinez-Cuevas-Acevedo, lovingly known as Nati or Doña Nati, passed away peacefully at Mercy Health in Lorain on September 23, 2024, at the age of 96. Born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Nati moved to Lorain in the 1950s, embarking on a journey rich in faith, love, and resilience.

A devoted wife for 61 years to her beloved husband, Manuel Cuevas-Acevedo, who predeceased her in 2006, Nati's heart remained forever intertwined with his. Manuel, a medically retired employee of the former Penn Central Railroad, was her cherished partner throughout their life together.

Nati's dedication to service was evident in her work at the Rayanne Nursing Facility in Westlake, Ohio, where she began as a nursing aide and later assisted with housekeeping before retiring. Her compassion and commitment left a lasting impact on both colleagues and residents.

As the last surviving member of her siblings, Nati cherished the memory of her twin sister, Monse Rat’e Guidicelli-Martinez Rivera. Her strong faith and love for God were central to her life, and she was a lifelong member of the Evangelist Levitt Road Gospel, formerly Grace Gospel Hall.

Nati is survived by her two children: Angel Manuel Cuevas and his late wife, Charlotte Sword Cuevas, and Maria Guidicelli Cuevas Baez, along with Maria’s husband, José Baez Aduhar-Cardona Jr. She took great joy in her grandchildren: James Lyle Fox; José Manuel Baez (wife, Ivon Caraballo); Samuel Lee Baez (wife, Sarita Gonzalez); Esteban Ramon Baez (wife, Michelle Lynn); Antonio Luis Baez (wife, Erika Barreto); and Erica Lynn Gonzalez.  Nati was also a cherished aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to over 20 family members. She is survived by her great-grandchildren, including Renier Roberto; Evelisse Monique; Domingo Antonio; Antonio Luis, Jr. (wife, Neitalisha LeBron); Emilio Israel; Julian Acevedo; Lucciano Ramon; Giovanni Manuel; Sariana Lenor Diaz; Iliana Nicole; Jacob Fox (who also passed); Trinidy McKenzie Fox; Jarod; Lilian; Maurita; and Kamydi Harris, along with one great-great-granddaughter, Amaris Sarai.

Nati’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of her remarkable life will take place in the coming days, inviting loved ones to share their memories and honor the beautiful spirit of Nati. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of God she cherished so dearly.
