Noemi "Mimi" Reyes Celestino, (nee Romero), age 72 of Lorain, died on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Anchor Lodge Retirement Village, following a brief illness.

She was born on January 6, 1934 in Laredo, Texas, moving to Lorain in 1953 from Texas.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and has been a member since moving here in 1953.

Noemi was a member of a choir while in Texas, the Salvation Army, she always has been active in church functions, even as a child.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, going to the movies, listening to Christian music and enjoyed her religion.

She is survived by her 4 sons: Mario, John, Rudy and Eddie Celestino, all of Lorain, daughters: Letty Bottomlee of Elyria, Helen Ortegon of Lorain, Linda Perez, of Lorain, Patty Senquiz of Elyria, Juanita Couzins, of Tampa, Fl, Elizabeth Keeton, of Wadsworth, OH and Annette Cline of Lorain, 31 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, brothers: Antonio "Tony" Romero and Arturo Romero both of Laredo, Texas, sister: Chole Lopez of Alice, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years: Juan B. Celestino in April of 1996, parents: Arturo and Maria (nee Reyes) Romero, grandson: Leonidez Jr. Perez at birth and brother: Gilbert Romero.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 20, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain and also on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Matthew Darrin, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
