Oscar Carrion, age 64, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a sudden illness compromised by Covid.
Born December 6, 1957, in Lorain, he lived in Lorain his entire life and attended Lorain Admiral King High School.
Oscar began working at the Ford Lorain Assembly Plant and retired from the Avon Lake Ford Plant in 2008 after 31 years.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and frequently attended church.
Oscar loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He coached Lorain Youth Baseball for over 20 years and enjoyed bowling. He also enjoyed playing bingo and had volunteered calling bingo for over 20 years.
Surviving is his wife 44 years, Peggy (nee Commerford); his children, Paul Carrion, Mark Carrion and Jessica Carrion all of Lorain, 12 grandchildren, brothers, Jose Luis Carrion, Danny Carrion and Ernie Carrion.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ernesto Carrion in 2014; parents, Jose J. and Francisca (nee Garcia); a sister, Yolanda Bustamonte; and brothers, Jessie Carrion and Jose A. Carrion.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
