Patricia A. "Patti" Long

Patricia A. “Patti” Long (nee Capretta), age 79, of Lorain, died Monday, February 27, 2023, at her residence while under the care of Mercy New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness.

Born May 5, 1943, in Lorain, she was raised in Amherst, where she attended Marion L. Steele High School.  Since 1970, she has lived in Lorain.

Patti was a St. Peter Parish in Lorain member and had a passion for gardening, playing cards, and riding roller coasters.  She loved dancing and taking beautiful vacations with her husband.

She also cherished having gatherings with family and friends.  Patti was a great cook who loved reading recipes and watching cooking shows.  Her favorite singer was Julio Iglesias, and she cherished all the time spent with her granddaughter, Meghan Gibbons.

Surviving is her daughter, Amy Long of Cleveland; son, Erik Long of Akron; and sister, Diane Banas of Amherst.

Her husband of 56 years, Darrell, preceded her death in 2019.
