Patricia America Torres, age 88, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at The Woods on French Creek in Avon following a lengthy illness.
Born October 29, 1933 in San German, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain in 1947 and graduated from Lorain High School in 1951. Patricia moved back to Puerto Rico in 1977 and lived there for 20 years before returning to Lorain.
Patricia retired in 1996 from IoLab, a division of Johnson & Johnson, where she worked in international shipping and productions for 18 years. Prior to this, she worked in the juvenile probation department in Elyria for Judge Webber and at WEOL as a radio announcer.
She was a member of House of Praise International in Lorain, and loved to travel, read Christian literature, mysteries and biographies. She also loved spending time with her family, keeping her home organized, scrabble, crostics and Parcheesi.
Surviving daughters, Linda (Harlan) Steele, Susan Pagan, Patricia (Daniel) Alicea, Ivette Rupert, Sandra Rodriguez and Aurea Davila; a brother, Reynaldo (Adela) Torres.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pascual and Patria (nee Casiano) Torres; and sister, Cristela Ferri Torres.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
