Paul Andrusyszyn, 82, of Elyria, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at his residence while under the care of New Life Hospice following a short illness.
He was born March 5, 1924 in the Ukraine; he came to this area in 1950.
He worked for the Elyria Foundry in the maintenance department responsible for maintenance and plumbing, retiring in 1983 after 33 years of service.
He was a member of St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church, Lorain.
He enjoyed cats, dogs and other animals, gardening and watching wrestling on television.
Surviving are his sons, Mike Andrusyszyn of Lorain, Paul Andrusyszyn and Tony Andrusyszyn both of Elyria; 3 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter; a nephew, Steve Melnyczuk of Elyria.
He was preceded by his wife of 37 years, Joan Irene (nee Parker) in 1999; parents Micheta and Tekla Andrusyszyn; and a sister, Lena Melnyczuk.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a panachida funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by Divine liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church, E. 31st Street and Charleston Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Steven Paliwoda, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
