Paul M. Kunch, age 80, of Avon, died on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Avon Lake.
He was born on July 12, 1931 in Lorain. He had lived in California for 35 years before moving back to this area.
He served in the United States Air Force as a private. He earned the United Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the National Defense Medal during the Korean Era.
Paul was employed as an engineer in the Aerospace Industry, retiring in 1995.
He was very proud of being Russian Orthodox.
He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Paul enjoyed being outdoors, swimming, surfing, hunting and traveling to Mexico.
He is survived by his sons: Craig and Keith, both of Lorain and 3 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Michael and Mary (nee Helechko) Kunch, brothers: Dimitri and Joseph, sisters: Gia Soroka and Elizabeth Kunch.
Private services were held by the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
