Perseveranda "Persi" Navarro (nee Vega), 83, of Lorain, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness with COPD.
Born June 26, 1933 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, she graduated high school there in 1952 and then moved to Lorain where she has lived since.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain.
Persi was a homemaker and enjoyed fellowship with others and helping them with their needs. She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading her Bible and loved seeing her friends.
Surviving is her daughter, Carmen Morales of Staten Island, New York; brothers, Fulto Vega of Puerto Rico, Francisco Vega of Florida; sisters, Lola Vega Solis of Florida and Gracia Vega of Puerto Rico; her nieces, Anita Solis of Florida, Drusilla Solis Vega of Florida; and many nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Juan R. Navarro in 2005; sons, Feliciano Morales and Angel Navarro; a daughter, Rosa Navarro; parents, Marcelo Vega and Nicolasa Ortiz; a brother-in-law, Roberto; and many brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. To send online condolences go to
