Phyllis "Phil" Dean Slone (nee Slusher), age 58, of Lorain, died on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at her brother's residence, after a brief illness.
She was born on December 8, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio. She resided in Lorain for most of her life, until moving in with her brother in Grafton 1 month ago. She was a 1966 graduate from Lorain High, and then attended Lorain County Community College to receive her CAD in 1996.
Phyllis was employed at Eaton Fabricating, Grafton, as a CAD Operator. She was a member of the Freedom House Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working crossword puzzles, doing things on the computer, cooking, and just being with her family.
She is survived by her 5 sons; Patrick L. Slone, of St. Cloud, FL, Jason M. Slone and Eric O. Slusher, both of Lorain, Rich Ledbetter, of Kansas, and Scott Campana, of Amherst, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a brother, Dean Slusher, of Grafton, and several nieces and nephews and her aunts.
She was preceded in death by her sons; Austin E. Slone, and Christopher O. Slone, her parents; Oscar Dean and Ethel Mae Hall (nee Bishop) Slusher, her step-father, Donald S. Hall, and a brother, Richard A. Slusher.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Paul Gonzalez, Pastor of the Freedom House Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
