Ramon Gonzalez

Ramon Gonzalez Otero, age 80, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024, at University Hospital St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.

Born November 18, 1943, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to Jose Gonzalez and Jacinta Otero. For many years he worked as a laborer in the foundry of Arth Brass and Aluminum Castings in Cleveland, Ohio.

He loved horses and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Genoveva (nee Melendez) Gonzalez; children, Heriberto (Michelle) Gonzalez, Jasmine (Ralph) Gonzalez-Bonilla and Raymond (Vilmary) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Heriberto Jr., Chelsea, Jaslyn, Joanna, Julianna, Alanis and Joshua; great grandchildren, Logan, Colton and Arya as well as his siblings, Santos Gonzalez and Josefa “Pepa” Gonzalez.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as his siblings, Isabel Otero, Jose Gonzalez, Apolonia Gonzalez, Angel Luis Gonzalez, Tomas Gonzalez, Hector Luis Gonzalez, Benjamin Gonzalez.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
