Ramon P. Velazquez

Ramon P. Velazquez, age 86, of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, after a brief illness.
He was born on June 30, 1926, in San German, Puerto Rico and had moved to Philadelphia in 1967, where he lived until moving to Lorain in 1979. While living in Philadelphia, he was employed at Repco for 12 years. Ramon enjoyed carpentry, gardening, reading the Bible, and writing poetry.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years; Carmen (nee Pinto), sons; Ramon Pabon, Jr., of Puerto Rico and Saul Pabon, of Lorain, daughters; Nancy Almodova, Ada Iris Almodova, Nixia Almodova, and Lucy Almodova, all of Puerto Rico, and Yvette Pabon, of Lorain, 4 grandchildren in Lorain, and many grandchildren in Puerto Rico, and his brothers; Evangelio and Zene Pabon, both of Puerto Rico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 19, from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
