Ramona Krokos

Ramona C. Krokos (nee Lopez), age 94, went to Heaven on August 30, 2023.

Ramona was born in Lorain and lived there for over 80 years. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1947. Over the years Ramona worked at the Lorain Telephone Company, in medical billing, and retail pharmacy.

Ramona was a warm, friendly, caring woman and shared her kindness generously. She easily made friends wherever she went, worked or visited.  A devout Catholic, Ramona was a long-time member of St. Stanislaus Parish, and then of St. Anthony of Padua Parish. She was a dedicated volunteer and Eucharist Minister.

Her greatest joy was her family, who convinced her to move to Pennsylvania in her later years so they could share precious time together.

Ramona is survived by her daughter: Karen and son-in-law: Robert. She was a loving Grammy to Allison (Michael), Megan (Christian), and Kara. Her great-grandchildren Chloe, Colin, Logan, and Luke were constantly showered with hugs and kisses from their doting “Gigi”. Ramona also leaves behind her dear sister, Dolores.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Stephen F. Krokos; parents: Jacob and Lucille Lopez-Casar and her brother: Jack Lopez.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain.  Rev. Craig Hovanec will officiate. Burial will be private.
