Raymond A. Hammonds

Raymond A. Hammonds, 62, of Lorain, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 14, 1944 in Whitesburg, KY; he has lived in Lorain since 1976.
He most recently worked for Quality Security Door Co., in Lorain, where he did welding and painting. Prior to that, he worked as a truck driver for Schneider Trucking Co., for PC Campana, Lorain and for Lorain Shipbuilding Company.
He enjoyed fishing, and the outdoors.
Surviving is his son, Scott Hammonds of Lorain; a daughter, Tammy Popovich of Sweetwater, TN; 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard "Doc" Hammonds and Kattie (nee Wilcox) Hammonds.
Private family services where held. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain handled the arrangements.
