Raymond Peter Pawlowski, 76, of Lorain, died suddenly on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at his residence.
Born May 20, 1928 in Lorain, he was a life long resident here. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1947, and then he served in the US Army during the 1950's.
Ray worked as an auto mechanic for Duskey's in Lorain for 50 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lorain, the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Holy Name Society, and served as former councilman for St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Amvets Post 22 of Vermilion.
He enjoyed mechanics.
Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Dorothy (nee Losiewicz), sons; David R. and Daniel J. both of Avon Lake, Michael W. of Lorain, daughter; Karen Boyce of Amherst, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; Joseph J. Pawlowski in 1956, his mother; Cecilia J. (nee Jazdzinski) in 1983, and sister; Eleanore C. Skorupa in 1956.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, W. 7th Street and Reid Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Daniel O. Divis will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct full military honors.
