Richard Britvec, 69, of Lorain, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, Lorain following a short illness.
He was born May 19, 1938 in Battle Creek, MI; he came from there in 1958 to Lorain where he has lived since.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War for 2 years
Richard worked as a booth cleaner for Ford Motor Co., Lorain, for 39 years retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 425, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He was an avid sports fan.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Edna (nee Eubanks); sons, Scott Britvec, Shawn Britvec and Todd Britvec, all of Lorain; 5 grandchildren; brothers, Peter Britvec of Lorain, Joseph Britvec of Battle Creek, MI, and Jacob Britvec of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Eleanora Jackson of Sheffield Lake, OH, Rosella M. McCreary of Battle Creek, MI, Elizabeth Velo of East Leroy, MI and Cecilia Britvec of Sheffield Lake; and several nieces and nephews in Ohio, Michigan and Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Britvec and Barbara (nee Horvat); sisters, Anna Hosh, Francis Shick and Barbara Arbic.
Memorial services will be Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Delaware Avenue United Methodist Church, 658 E. Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
